Severn Sisters – A True Community! — Anna Fine Jewellery

I’ve published a couple of blogs more than the past number of weeks that I did not essentially publish. I’m not confident why, but I’m likely to just go with the notion that if I imagined they had been any good, I’d have concluded producing and published them!

Today though, I do definitely have anything worth creating about. It’s a tale of actual neighborhood and collaboration, of insane strategies, tricky do the job and a lot of love…

About this time las calendar year (wow! It was that extended back, I just appeared it up!!) I was questioned to be portion of a group exhibition of artists that have been possibly impressed by or worked along with the river Severn. I pretty much said no, as I often found to be wholly snowed below with commissions and in no way get any time to make nearly anything other than that.

I didn’t say no though…I decided to commit to undertaking a thing, that had turn out to be just a small exterior my comfort and ease zone. I joined the Severn Sisters and we set on our initial exhibition at 7Q Gallery in Chepstow.

The exhibition looked excellent and very superior revenue have been produced, but I want to notify you about our “second” event….Open up House……

It was all the brave concept of Annie Brennan, who we’ve now all named our “mother superior”. An strategy primarily based around comparable exhibitions that she’d visited/listened to of in town centres – all of the “sisters” placing on an exhibition over a weekend, in her house. So, just after some conferences, some snacks and a number of beverages, with no advertising budget and no idea if anyone would come, we decided to go for it!

Well… I feel the only words and phrases to describe this earlier weekend are resounding success!! There ended up 13 of us involved all alongside one another, and simply by some social media sharing and a little bit of leaflet printing on our house printers, people did discover out at about it – hundreds of folks in point! It just goes to exhibit that if you put your brain to it, and give your very very best work, anything is feasible!

For me however, the real good results has been obtaining this incredible group of females (and one particular token man of training course) that have just been so supportive to each individual other in the course of the organisation and the actual party. Over the previous couple of weeks, but specially all through the Open up Dwelling alone, we chatted about so many issues and shared so several laughs. Theres clearly been hugs, but to be straightforward, it feels like the Severn Sisters are just 1 major regular hug. The way that the group just gelled was naturally found by our guests as 1 of them assumed that we all lived and worked together in Annie’s household!

We’re all distinct ages, from diverse areas and backgrounds and have diverse views, likes and dislikes, and that is completely okay. I experience so privileged to have been requested to be portion of this astounding tiny group and I can’t wait to get started thinking about what we do up coming!
