Tameka Jones, who grew up in St. Paul’s Rondo community, was a makeup artist for extra than 20 years when she was furloughed thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

But which is when she took her future into her individual fingers, and her desire of launching her personal cosmetics enterprise became a actuality. She took all her discounts to make her own line of lipsticks, referred to as Lip Esteem. And regardless of the pandemic and men and women carrying masks, she found significantly accomplishment at area pop-up gatherings that she opened her possess shop in the Rondo community on Friday afternoon.

“I want to develop generational wealth for me, and not only for me, but to help construct the neighborhood,” Jones stated. 

She grew up in Rondo and saw a thriving community of Black company homeowners, and she wanted to be portion of the revitalization attempts occurring in the community.
